How Replies came into existence
In 2007, the Bakkers published their first software application called Mailplane. Mailplane is a Google Mail (Gmail) application for Macintosh. Originally a hobby project for the Bakkers, Mailplane became very popular with Mac users. It received 1,000 subscribers for the beta and afterwards thousands of active users. To this day, Mailplane remains a popular product.
In 2008 while Mailplane was still going strong, Ruben followed his destiny by quitting his day job and creating another Mac application called Replies. He was frustrated with email support load and rewriting the same email replies constantly. Thus, this motivated him to create Replies specifically for email customer support agents needing help with answering emails.
The Bakkers are frequent users of their own product: since 2009, they have used Replies and can't imagine their lives without it. They appreciate that their product not only saves them time and energy, but also allows them to maintain a small team versus a larger one for email customer support. And with Replies’ launching date approaching fast, they are confident that users will appreciate it as well.
